Moseley book a Twickenham return

Dan Norton
Norton ran in two tries as Moseley upset Exeter in the Trophy

Moseley will run out at Twickenham for the first time since 1982 after upsetting the Exeter Chiefs 32-24 in the EDF Energy National Trophy.

The Birmingham-based club will face Leeds Carnegie in the final on 18 April, 27 years on from the tied John Player Cup final against Gloucester.

It was on-loan Gloucester wing Dan Norton who starred in the semi-final with two of Moseley's four tries.

The other wing Nathan Bressington and prop Terry Sigley also crossed.

The home side also survived two long periods of playing with only 14 men after lock Ally Muldowney and back-rower James Rodwell both received yellow cards.

But 12 points from the boot of Tristan Roberts secured the trip to Twickenham.

Moseley also claimed five league points from the game at Billesley Common, which served as a double-header.

It meant the result has boosted their chances of survival in National One and seriously dented the Chiefs' title challenge.
